**Officers from the state Goverments appointed by the President, Governing Council on rotation basis for a period of 2 years

I feel extremely privileged and delighted to be part of the Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE) — the premier national training institute under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India dedicated to Nation Building through Capacity Building since about 43 years.
Located in a lush green 10-acre campus, IAHE is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including air-conditioned conference and seminar halls, lecture halls, modern furnished & equipped auditorium, well-equipped materials testing laboratory, computer lab with latest design software, a library, staff quarters, canteen, and a 'home-like' hostel with boarding facilities accommodating around 120 trainees. The campus also boasts excellent sports facilities such as badminton courts, billiards, table tennis, and other indoor games.
In light of various flagship schemes launched by the Government of India for upgrading and expanding the road network, there is a growing demand for highly skilled and professionally trained highway engineers. Simultaneously, the sector requires continuous innovation, adoption of new/alternative materials and technologies, and a strong focus on sustainability and cost efficiency in road construction and maintenance.
To meet these emerging needs, training, knowledge upgradation, and technology dissemination are critical. IAHE has been at the forefront of this mission for several decades, playing a pivotal role in training highway professionals from across the country. Moreover, as part of India’s international cooperation initiatives, IAHE has expanded its outreach to provide training to professionals from over 65 Afro-Asian countries under various co-operations of Ministry of External Affairs, International Labour Organization and multilateral funding agencies like World Bank, ADB, etc.
I am confident that with the dedication of our faculty, staff, and stakeholders, IAHE will continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of India’s road infrastructure and contribute significantly towards the development of world-class highways.
